About the role
Reporting to the Facility Manager, the Lead Field Chemist will perform duties associated with transporting hazardous and non-hazardous waste between Covanta facilities and the Client's sites.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Conducting lab pack projects indoors and outdoors, material inventory, segregation of materials, and packaging, completing paperwork and documentation in accordance with all DOT and EPA laws and regulations, and managing the transportation hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
Responsibilities:
- Perform Lab Pack services
- Coordinate vehicle to pick up and transport waste to a designated location safely while meeting scheduled appointments
- Ensure placarding of vehicle meets DOT regulations.
- Maintain paperwork including expense reports, time sheets, vehicle inspection reports, manifests, and job sheets, inventory sheets.
- Secure cargo prior to and during transit
- Complete additional assigned duties.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma / GED required.
- BS in Chemistry, Biology or related field or equivalent experience
- Lab Pack experience strongly preferred.
- CDL A or B with Hazmat and Tanker experience with a clean driving record.
- Ability to use a smart phone for E-Logs.
- Abide by standard DOT regulations at all times.
- Occasional overnight travel
