Essential Duties and Responsibilities_
Operations and Production:
- Daily monitoring of fish health and environmental conditions in ponds
- Assist in daily feeding of pond fish
- Routinely checking fish for parasites and diseases in ponds, and treating when necessary
- Treating for problematic vegetation
- Basic arithmetic and understanding of algebra for calculating treatment dosages
- Understanding water quality parameters and how they pertain to fish health and wellness
- Assist in grading, sorting, and packaging of fish
- Assist in harvesting fish from ponds
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Fisheries or aquaculturerelated field
- 24 years' experience in Aquaculture /Aquatics, preferred but not required
- Willingness to learn about all aspects of the Aquaculture/Aquatics industry
- Ability to work independently
Administration:
- Maintain courteous and effective working relationships with customers, vendors, and other representatives of external organizations
- Work with maintenance/facilities to keep operations running smoothly
Physical Demands:
- Employee is frequently required to lift and carry 1030 pounds, occasionally in excess of 50 pounds
- Employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel or bend. The ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time is required
- The ability to transport, handle, and place fish in their habitats
