The Associate Director of Donor Relations & Stewardship is an integral member of the development team who will coordinate stewardship and donor relations efforts with the primary goal of retaining and upgrading donors to Emerson College.

Reporting to the Director of Donor Relations & Stewardship, the Associate Director will play a supportive role in implementing an overall strategic donor relations and stewardship program.

Primary focus will be developing and executing a range of stewardship activities to ensure that the College creates, nurtures, and sustains long-term personal relations with its alumni, parents, and friends, inspiring further support for Emerson's important programs and initiatives.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Develop customized written donor communications on an ongoing basis; including but not limited to gift acknowledgments, pledge payment reminders, and stewardship reports
  • Collaborate closely with members of the Development, Advancement Communications + Special Initiatives and Alumni Association teams, as well as with the central Communications, Marketing, and Digital departments in developing stewardship communications and donor recognition collateral
  • Work in partnership with the Director of Donor Relations to create and implement a new recognition program and giving societies for the College's donors
  • Execute stewardship events for major donors to the College. Responsibilities include managing internal and external logistics, briefings, event execution and follow up
  • Fulfill data entry and reporting requests, including the production of donor lists and other reports from the database for analytical purposes. Maintain accurate and uptodate donor contact and biographical information
  • Participate in the development and documentation of best practices for further enhancement of the College's donor relations and stewardship programs

QUALIFICATIONS - Qualifications are deemed required or preferred and represent what is needed to effectively perform job.

  • Bachelor's degree in related field required
  • At least 5 years of experience in event management, advancement/development, campaign fundraising, and alumni relations (or a closelyrelated field)
  • Direct experience in higher education preferred

  • Proven track record in effectively working with a broad range of internal and external constituents including faculty, staff, students, and donor constituents
  • Proficient at handling confidential and/or sensitive information
  • Must be able to working on multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated project management skills, ability to work independently, and attention to detail and follow
- through are essential

  • Exceptional organizational skills, including demonstrated ability to effectively handle multiple tasks while paying close attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills; creativity, initiative, and independence in carrying out responsibilities; demonstrated planning, and teamwork.
  • Direct experience with Raiser's Edge NXT and proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office and Google suite preferred
  • Exceptional customer service competencies: developed active reflective listening skills; capacity for creative problemsolving; cando attitude
  • Ability to lead and thrive in a fastpaced, fluid, entrepreneurial, and collaborative environment

Compensation for this position will be between $77,600 - $97,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Grade of Position: 23-10E

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36.25
