The Corporate Controller directs Boyd's accounting activities in accordance with GAAP, to include financial planning and reporting, Federal, State, and local income and sales tax compliance, internal audit, accounts payable and receivables administration, company fixed assets, cost accounting and cash management for the company.

Along with the company President, manage banking relationship providing financial reports, debt covenants calculation, and operational account(s) balancing.

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Conduct or coordinate audits of company accounts and financial transactions to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements and statutes.
  • Authority for the receipt, disbursement, banking, protection, and custody of company funds.
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity and security of the company's original records and reports as well as their timely completion for action by stakeholders.
  • Prepare or direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, or reports required by regulatory agencies, company management and Board of Directors.
  • Proactively manage capital and report on the company financial performance to management to achieve the company's financial plans and budgets.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with banking, insurance, and nonorganizational accounting personnel to facilitate financial activities.
  • Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of accounting and other financial staff, recommending and implementing personnel actions, such as promotions and dismissals.
  • Monitor financial activities and details such as reserve levels to ensure that all legal, regulatory, and banking covenant requirements are met.
  • Prepare and file annual tax returns or prepare financial information so that outside accountants can complete tax returns.
  • Prepare or direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, or reports required by regulatory agencies, company management and Board of Directors.
  • Receive, record, and authorize requests for disbursements in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Supervise employees performing financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, payroll, and budgeting duties.
  • Other responsibilities and accountabilities as assigned by your manager.
Manages and directs Accountants and Clerks. Responsible for the overall direction and evaluation of each subordinate. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in line with the Company's policies, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local laws.

Supervisory responsibilities include selection and hiring of employees; providing on-the-job training; assigning, planning and directing work; evaluating employee performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee complaints and resolving problems.

  • Bachelors degree; or 7 to 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA designation desirable. MBA, a plus.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret results.
  • Reasoning Ability
This position requires the following reasoning abilities;

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills

This position requires the following computer skills;
