We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join The Kendal Corporation (TKC), an organization where you can make a difference Kendal - Together, transforming the experience of aging.


The
Payroll Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for TKC team members, as well as managing various aspects of timekeeping, data analytics and reporting.

The Payroll Specialist is also responsible for initiating model practices necessary to accomplish the enterprise-wide Kendal System HRIS objectives.


Essential functions include:

  • Process payroll for TKC and startup Kendal communities.
  • Maintains indepth knowledge of federal and state regulations related to HR and payroll.
  • Works collaboratively with the systemwide HR and Payroll teams to design and implement payroll and related processes.
  • Performs system related payroll and time and attendance setup and configuration changes in the HRIS (UKG Pro).
  • Responsible for the entry, maintenance, expansion, and ongoing audit of employee data.
  • Serves as the technical point of contact for the development and maintenance of automated and manual EDI processes (file feeds).
  • Leads system maintenance, including the review, development, testing and implementation of system upgrades and new features and functionalities.
  • Partners with The Kendal Corporation (TKC) team members in implementing and developing HRIS operations that align with the overall strategic goals.
  • Provides expert analyses regarding the configuration, accuracy, and efficiency of HRIS programs and related systems.
  • Leads in projects involving the analysis, design, testing, implementation, and support for HRIS.
  • Organizational wide point of contact for system related issues or requests.
Knowledge and Skills needed to be successful in this role:

  • Proficiency with HRIS system (UKG Pro strongly preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years of multistate payroll experience (California strongly preferred)
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) Designation through American Payroll Association highly desired
  • Bachelor's degree in business, IT, HR, or related areas preferred.
  • HR certification preferred.
  • Analytical ability to manipulate and understand data.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to coordinate and complete multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively with others.
  • Maintain effective internal and external customer service focus in an environment which demands strong deliverables along with the ability to identify problems and drive appropriate solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to interact with all levels of the company, as well as willingness to coach and teach end users who do not possess expert computer skills.
  • Ability to perform with a high level of confidentiality, professionalism, integrity, and credibility.
  • Effective presentation skills including written and verbal communication skills.

This is a hybrid position with the requirement to work in the corporate office located at 591 Collaboration Way, Newark, DE 19713 based on meetings, events, or business needs.

Some travel to new or existing affiliates, industry conferences, or events, may be required.
