Description

Under general supervision, the
Materials Manager efficiently and effectively provides an uninterrupted flow of supply and equipment to support all clinical staff within the ambulatory surgery center.

The position requires routine maintenance on inventory of raw goods within a timely and accurate fashion; monitoring on the usage of raw materials within the centers is required.

This role also includes performing as a Lead Tech in the interim and traveling between our Mesa and Avondale centers.


Functions:

Take stock of inventory.
Consider best price, quality, availability, and reliability when purchasing products.
Arrange for safe transport of equipment
Ensure materials and parts in the supply chain meet the minimum requirements for quality assurance standards.
Test materials and parts.
Place purchase orders.

Develop policies and procedures in the areas of procurement, inventory control, receiving, storage and distribution, of supplies throughout the center.

Interface directly with all departments in the surgical center with regard to materials that have been requested to a certain specification and need.

Maintain adequate supply levels throughout the Surgical Center.
Follow established safe practices for receiving hazardous substances.
Coordinate productive hours, space, equipment and expense as they relate to materials department.
Performs other duties as requested by management.
Travels to multiple facilities, on need be basis.


Skills and Qualifications:

Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in a team and independently.
Strong attention to detail.
General understanding of medical supply equipment.
Previous 1-2 year ASC or hospital experience as a Surgical Technician required.
Previous 1-2 years ASC or hospital experience in Materials Maintenance.
