Duties:


  • Analyzes financial statements of SBA disaster loans which are or are considered potential problems. Compares present previous statements to determine trends in financial conditions and compliance with loan terms and conditions. Follows up with borrowers or banks on any serious violations noted.
  • Independently services a selected portfolio of disaster loans. Concentrates on those over 30 days past due by initiating collection letters and contacting borrowers by telephone by the use of Predictive-Dialing System (Autodial).
  • Contacts borrowers who are less delinquent in order to determine the cause of the delinquency and propose corrective action for resolving the problem.
  • Answers verbal and written requests from banks and borrowers and other financial institutions concerning payments on loans, interest rates, loan balances, terms conditions, and other credit information. Is mindful of the Freedom of Information and Privacy Acts when responding to such requests.
  • Supports the Liquidation Team in handling problem accounts which require enforced collection measures or other actions within the scope of existing disaster authority consistent with the applicable laws, regulations and procedures in order to protect the interest of the government.

  • This is a bargaining unit position with AFGE Local 22
  • This is not a drug testing designated position (TDP).

Qualifications:


GS-7: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-6 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector: working with a variety of collateral, business types loan programs; and performing in-depth analysis of obligor's financial statements, tax returns, and earning potential of variety business enterprises; and making recommendations for residential/commercial/business loan requests and servicing/liquidation actions; and developing processes that utilize electronic data generated from various sources in order to conduct analysis and generate reports for management.
