Summary/Purpose
Development and exposure to different areas of JTEKT North America engineering organization
Including product engineering, application engineering, and engineering services
Contribute to the business objectives of the company
Provide support to engineering organization
Ability to come back for multiple co-op rotations preferred
Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
Project work to improve designs, build knowledge, & support business initiatives
Learn and use engineering processes and methods
Problem solving support for testing and plant issues
Work in metrology, metallurgy, bearing testing, and Machine Design
Coordinate and organize testing and data analysis
Coordination assistance for prototype samples and tooling
Analysis of bearing designs for performance against customer requirements
Analysis of bearing systems
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong motivation to learn
Mechanical aptitude
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Education:
Student of Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
Work is mostly performed in a normal office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards, and with substantial time spent working on a computer.
Requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard and other office equipment.The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to manufacturing areas which require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
Travel by automobile or plane may be required.Employee may perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
