Description

Peoples Gas, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Fleet Assistant in our Chicago, Illinois South Shop location on the 3:30-Midnight M-F shift.

The hourly rate for this position starts at $25.36 with scheduled contractual increases.

Responsibilities:

Perform basic periodic maintenance on a variety of vehicles and work equipment
Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on light and medium duty vehicles
Complete required documentation and enter all maintenance data in a computerized Maintenance Management system
Coordinate downtime, repairs and return to service with appropriate leadership
Change and repair tires
Procure parts from outside vendors to facilitate timely equipment repairs
Pick up and deliver vehicles as directed

Minimum Experience Required:

High School Diploma, HSED, or GED Required
1 year of relevant work experience or vehicle mechanic course work towards a certification
Basic PC skills
Valid Drivers License
Ability to obtain CDL within 6 months
