- Develop effective purchasing strategies that align with our company's goals.
- Evaluate supplier profiles and negotiate offers to obtain the best value.
- Nurture relationships with key suppliers to ensure product quality, on-time delivery, and contract compliance.
- Manage vendor relationships, update information, and explore new vendor options.
- Monitor supplier performance, take corrective actions if necessary, to meet quality and delivery standards.
- Collaborate with departments to meet material and supply needs efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Track inventory levels, assess demand, and generate reports.
- Review RFQ's, issue purchase orders, and manage inventory to meet production requirements.
- Input purchase orders and receipts into MRP software.
- Investigate discrepancies between orders and receipts.
- Coordinate with internal departments such as accounting, shipping, and production.
- Maintain records, prepare reports, and suggest process improvements.
- Assist in coding shipping costs and credit card expenses.
- Ability to analyze market conditions and evaluate different suppliers.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and persuasion abilities.
- Self-driven with attention to detail and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills, multitasking abilities, and time management.
- Basic mathematical skills and proficiency in written communication.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and ERP software.
- Mainly desk-based, but occasional filing tasks may involve lifting, bending, or standing.
- Full-time role, Monday to Friday, 8am - 4:30pm with potential for overtime.
- Office-based role using standard equipment like computers, phones, and filing systems.
- No travel required for this position.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Preferably a post-secondary degree related to the field.
- 4-6 years of experience in purchasing or a similar role.
- Must pass physicals, background checks, and drug & alcohol tests.
