The Cancer Biology Specialist's key responsibilities include:
- Planning and executing high-risk, high-reward cancer biology R&D projects with the potential to revolutionize human health.
- Assessing the viability of technical approaches for transformative biomedical and health breakthroughs.
- Reviewing technical reports related to health research.
- Developing and assessing strategies for scientific capability enhancement.
- Monitoring R&D projects and technical progress towards goals.
- Creating test and evaluation methodologies.
- Evaluating the effectiveness, safety, and lifecycle costs of proposed or implemented scientific solutions.
- Generating scientific program status reports, presentations, and materials for review.
- Establishing and managing a central repository of R&D initiatives.
- Coordinating and participating in meetings, discussions, and seminars on ARPA-H related subjects.
- Communicating scientific findings and their impact to various audiences.
- Assisting Portfolio and Program Managers in engaging with ARPA-H clients.
- Handling administrative tasks such as scheduling, memos, record-keeping, and program operations coordination.
- Responding to program-aligned data requests, compiling information, and preparing reports for senior management.
- Assisting in technology transitions planning and support for end users and customers.
- Supporting the evaluation and testing of cancer biology technologies, systems, and capabilities, including coordination with government, academic, and industry programs.
- Providing internal leadership at Noblis, including potential management responsibilities, team development, and new business opportunities.
Required Qualifications:
Required minimum skills and knowledge:
- Must be a US Citizen and capable of obtaining a Public Trust Clearance.
- Experience in planning and executing high-risk, high-reward cancer biology R&D projects with transformative potential for human health.
- Demonstrated expertise in conceiving, planning, and conducting extensive research projects requiring innovative approaches and advanced techniques in cancer biology.
- Skilled in utilizing advanced theories, techniques, and practices in cancer biology.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, creativity, and the ability to tackle unprecedented challenges.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation abilities with a results-oriented mindset. Proficiency in presentation software and spreadsheet tools.
- Experience in providing guidance, feedback, and consulting to federal program managers.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment, show initiative and teamwork, and remain productive when faced with new or shifting tasks.
- Technical background in managing cancer biology projects.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in biology or related field plus at least 3 years of relevant experience.
