Work Experience:

Minimum two years in a medical office environment.


Education:

High School Diploma, Associates Degree may be required. Specific training on government programs may be required.

Examples of Duties:


  • Obtain all VSP authorizations (Medical and Primary Eye Care) and record in NextGen
  • Update Eye Care patient insurance info and Providers as needed within patient record in EHR
  • Notify MMHCS of any insurance authorization discrepancies
  • Screen, answer, and audit WellApp (Televox in the interim)
  • Screen interactive chat messages and respond to patient inquires and requests for information. Escalate as needed
  • Audit system usage by Medical Support Staff to ensure messages are responded to in a timely manner.
  • Answer calls related to patient appointment inquiries
  • Screen and respond to all portal inquiries and responses
  • Patient portal as utilized by patients to request appointments and various inquires.
  • Respond as appropriate and route as needed.
  • Train and shadow Call Center as need to maintain quality control
  • Reviews documentation and schedules for accuracy, completeness, and consistency
  • Review EHR appointments to ensure all appointments meet established parameters for double bookings, cancellations, appointment descriptors, etc.

Additional Responsibilities:


  • Complete abstraction of paper charts, and monitor shred completion
  • Translate if bilingual and receive bilingual pay
  • Assist with quality projects as needed
  • Fill in for call center as requested (based necessity and urgency as determined by Clinical Support Center Manager)

Travel Requirements:

Occasionally may travel to other sites to attend meetings or training; occasionally overnight for training.
