Essential Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for day to day operation of the reception/front desk area
  • Answers and directs all incoming calls and make calls on behalf of management team as needed
  • Coordinates the shipment and receipt of packages and distributes mail to employees daily
  • As needed, assists Business Development team with preparing folders
  • Enter all courier charges and notify accounting when charges are ready for billing
  • Assist with front desk projects including creating and assembling laboratory, reference packet and reagent notebooks
  • Filing, faxing, data entry, scanning and distribution of company documents
  • Scan project related documents for archiving
  • Interact with other departments to ensure compliance and use of current SOP documents
  • Maintains logs for shipping and receiving
  • Assist in review of raw data and data transfers
  • Issue QC review observations with scientific staff to ensure data integrity
  • Provides excellent support to fellow team members
  • Assist in special projects as assigned by manager

Minimal Acceptable Qualifications:

Education/Experience:


  • Associate's degree in business administration, sciences, or related field with not less than one (1) years' experience in a laboratory environment or related field

Skills:


  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Acute attention to detail
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to work effectively within team to meat objectives under time constraints
  • Strong organizational and project administration skills
  • Experience working in a GxP environment preferred

Supervisory Responsibility:


  • This position has no supervisory responsibility

Supervision Received:


  • Frequent supervision and instructions
  • Infrequently exercises discretionary authority

Working Environment:


  • Primarily office environment
  • Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and filing cabinets

Physical Demands:


  • Ability to work in an upright and/or stationary position for up to eight (8) hours per day
  • Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists to operate office equipment
  • Occasional mobility needed
  • Occasional crouching, stooping, with frequent bending and twisting of upper body and neck
  • Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moving) objects, including sample shipments and office supplies, with a maximum lift of 30 pounds
  • Ability to access and use a variety of computer software
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand, with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
  • Frequently interacts with others to obtain or relate information to diverse groups
  • Works independently with little guidance or reliance on oral or written instructions and plans work schedules to meet goals; requires multiple periods of intense concentration
  • Performs a wide range of variable tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to the occurrence
  • Ability to perform under stress and multitask
  • Regular and consistent attendance

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

  • This is a full-time position
  • Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the "core" work hours as published in the BioAgilytix Employee Handbook
