Responsibilities:


JOB SUMMARY:
To provide leadership for, and continued growth of, the Hospice program at Stella Maris. To provide oversight and guidance to the hospice program, clinical and administrative employees. To identify new markets and opportunities for growth and outreach of the Hospice program.

  • Establishes annual goals and objectives and takes responsibility for program planning and implementation.
  • Coordinates all program evaluation including survey accreditation reviewers, quality assurance programs, and utilization review programs.
  • Reviews program and analyzes community trends, legislation and other data pertinent to hospice programming and makes written proposals for changes. Works on special programs as assigned by the Administrator for clinical Services. Negotiates contracts.
  • Identifies opportunities to market hospice services to physicians, professional staff, and, in conjunction with the Public Relations dept., develops plans to respond to these needs.
  • Works cooperatively with Hospice Administrator and clinical managers on all matters related to the Hospice program coordination and problem solving.
  • Insures development, monitoring and annual review of program policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Assists in preparing annual budgets after consultation with staff. Reviews monthly, analyzes variances, prepares written explanation for variances.
  • Directs the ongoing development and effective delivery of hospice services within the community, assited living facilities, long term care facilities, St. Elizabeth's apartments, and retirement communities. Establishes and communicates goals of the business.
  • Oversees through linelevel management, interviews, hires, trains, and evaluates staff. Ensures polices and disciplinary actions are processed in accordance with Stella Maris standards and core values
  • Assumes oncall responsibilties as needed and when needed to sufficiently and effeciently run the operation.

INDHP

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field MBA preferred
  • RN License required
  • 3+ years of healthcare leadership experience
  • Minimum 3 years as a Director or Manager of a healthcare facility, i.e. Hospice, Longterm care, rehabiliation, etc.
  • Strong communication, computer, community relations, and personnel skills
