Part-time Brain Injury Support Specialist II to provide in-home support to assist Traumatic Brain Injured individuals develop various skills in order to be as independent as possible in their home and community. We use compensatory skills to learn new ways of completing tasks. Every individual receives tailored services based on their special needs, so each day, each client is unique. Staff work with - 2 individuals a week for 2+ hours each, depending on the person's needs. All services are provided in the client's home.
MUST BE Comfortable driving to/from 1-2x per week to:Hasbrouck Heights and Caldwell, NJ.


Responsibilities:

Goals will be defined by supervisor and clients.

You will partner with each client, addressing their household responsibilities such as timely payments, daily routine, scheduling, form completion, comprehension, paperwork organizing, phone call supervision to ensure they are articulating their needs and asking appropriate questions to make informed decisions.

Where applicable, you will either supervise current strategies for reinforcement and consistency or creating new compensatory strategies for a given task or issue.

  • Qualifications:_

Minimum Requirements for Brain Injury Support Specialist I:


Education:

College degree showing how the degree would transfer into supporting this population.


Experience:

A minimum of 12 months experience working with the TBI population or a similar field with similar characteristics.


Must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver's license, proof of NJ auto insurance and responsible driving behaviors must be maintained.

Competence in writing, planning, organization and documentation. Creativity, initiative and flexibility as well as time management and communication skills are required. The ability to communicate with families, professionals and co-workers is a must. The ability to demonstrate positive client interaction skills is essential.

Pay:
$ $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: - 5 per week
