Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the entire accounts payable process, including invoice verification, coding, and payment processing
Manage and mentor the accounts payable team, providing guidance and support as needed
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations
Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors
Review and approve payment runs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Conduct regular reconciliation of accounts payable transactions and resolve any discrepancies
Monitor cash flow and forecast future cash requirements
Collaborate with project managers and other departments to ensure accurate project costing and reporting
Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports and metrics for senior management
Support the monthend and yearend closing processes
Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations
Continuously improve processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of accounts payable experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role within the construction industry
Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles and practices
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, Viewpoint) and MS Office, particularly Excel
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

CPA or CMA certification preferred
Familiarity with lien waivers and subcontractor compliance requirements
