Our palliative care unit has 6 patient beds and is located in a very attractive architectural new building. The working environment and ergonomics are very appealing with spacious rooms. The team works interprofessionally, regularly undergoes further training and development, and is characterized by a high level of independence and responsibility. There are diverse opportunities for development in the field of palliative medicine. On the palliative care unit, seriously ill patients are treated and cared for with empathy and ample time, who require time-limited treatment for life-limiting diseases in the advanced stage of an oncological illness.

Palliative medicine provides support for incurably ill people through comprehensive, interdisciplinary care and active relief of suffering. The task of palliative care units is therefore not to treat or cure diseases, but to control symptoms, especially pain.
