    About the School of Biological Sciences at the Georgia Institute of Technology

    The mission of the School of Biological Sciences is to conduct exceptional research at the leading edge of biological sciences and to provide high quality, innovative education for undergraduate and graduate students. Faculty, staff and students will strive to produce significant new knowledge and translate these discoveries into benefits for human and environmental health. These discoveries will be shared with the public and private sector so that this knowledge can benefit science education, government policy, and economic development in Georgia and throughout the world.

    Undergraduate degree programs include 4 year BS and 5 year BS/MS programs in Biology and Bioinformatics. Graduate degree programs include: MS and PhD in Biology, MS and PhD in Bioinformatics, MS and PhD in Computational Science and Engineering as well as PhD in Quantitative Biosciences, Ocean Sciences and Engineering, Applied Physiology, and Dual Degree Doctorate of Physical Therapy/ Doctor of Philosophy. Research strengths include: Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, Ecology, Evolution, Integrative Physiology, Microbial Dynamics and Infection, Neuroscience, Molecular and Cell Biology, Molecular Biomedical Sciences. The School is home to the two largest and most diverse undergraduate majors in the College of Sciences: Biology and Neuroscience.     About the School of Psychology at the Georgia Institute of Technology

    The School of Psychology is dedicated to advancing psychological science through cutting-edge research, innovative education, and impactful community engagement. Our faculty and student researchers strive to promote a scientific understanding of the human brain, cognition, mind, environment, and behavior.     Job Summary

    The Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) invites applications for a full-time Academic Professional faculty career track (non-tenure track) appointment in an instructional faculty position in Neuroscience, beginning summer/fall 2024. The position is dedicated to the undergraduate degree program in neuroscience, with primary responsibilities for teaching, student advising, course and curriculum development, laboratory coordination, and supervision of graduate and undergraduate teaching assistants.

    This is a full-time position in the Academic Professional faculty career track with provisions for promotion in rank. The position may be filled at the Academic Professional or Senior Academic Professional rank, depending on the prior experience of the individual. Depending on their expertise, successful candidates will join the faculty of the School of Biological Sciences or the School of Psychology.

    Required Qualifications

    This is an open-rank search. The final job offer will be dependent on candidate qualifications in alignment with non-tenure track academic faculty ranks as outlined in section 3.2.2 of the Georgia Tech Faculty Handbook

    For all ranks, a PhD in Neuroscience or a closely related field, is required.

    Additionally:

    Academic Professional
    • Significant related experience or promotion from the rank of Associate Academic Professional (or equivalent); Quality of performance and potential development must be recognized by peers.

    Senior Academic Professional

    • Evidence of superior performance in the chosen field; Recognition by peers (whether national, regional, or local); Successful and measurable related experience; Five (5) years or more as an Academic Professional (or equivalent).
    Preferred Qualifications

    Preferred candidates will also have a strong quantitative and/or computational neuroscience background and interest in innovative undergraduate instruction.
