As a Carrier Representative at Virginia Transport LLC, you will play a crucial role in our Freight Department by facilitating the transportation of goods and ensuring smooth operations.

You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with carriers, negotiating rates, coordinating shipments, and resolving any issues that may arise.

This position requires individuals who are proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of thriving in a dynamic, high-volume environment.

Base salary based on experience - in addition to 5% commission structure.


Responsibilities:

• Build relationships with existing and new carrier partners in order to optimize their business needs
• Ensure that shipments are picked up and delivered on time while meeting customer requirements
• Provide clear communication with the drivers hauling our freight
• Verify and enter load information into TMS with accuracy and speed
• Provide timely and accurate shipment information to internal and external stakeholders
• Audit load information for accuracy and completion, making updates as needed
• Track and trace shipments
• Work closely with accounting department to resolve internal discrepancies

Qualifications:

• Experience in the supply chain and logistics industry is desired
• Carrier connections in the Midwest, East Coast, West Coast, Canada, and Mexico markets would be a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Have a sense of urgency, selfconfidence, passion, openmindedness, and commitment to do whatever it takes to satisfy the customer
• Can multitask between securing rates, booking capacity, and inputting load information into TMS
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and strong internet skills
• Good social and presentation skills
• Able to work effectively and be a team player

Pay:
$55, $60,000.00 per year
