Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Billing Specialist to join our team.
As a Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing and collections for our medical office.
This is a critical role in our organization, as you will play a key part in maintaining financial stability and ensuring compliance with medical coding and billing regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Review and verify accuracy of patient demographic and insurance information
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by paper
- Follow up on unpaid claims, denials, and appeals
- Resolve billing discrepancies and answer patient inquiries regarding billing issues
- Maintain uptodate knowledge of medical coding systems (ICD10, ICD9) and reimbursement policies
- Collaborate with medical coders to ensure accurate coding of services provided
- Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and take appropriate actions to collect outstanding balances
- Process payments received from patients or insurance companies
- Prepare and submit accurate monthly billing reports to management
Experience:
To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing or related field
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems (ICD10, ICD9), and reimbursement guidelines
- Proficiency in medical collection processes and procedures
- Familiarity with medical records management systems
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Note:
Experience with DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding is a plus.
Pay:
$ $22.00 per hour
