    Description

    Job Description

    Performs various tasks to disassemble, examine, fix, measure, and reassemble products and subassemblies to meet required standards. Also, operates machine tools, fits parts together to create or mend metal components, mechanisms, tools, or machines. The supported products include high-speed separators, decanters, WHE units, pumps, and valves for both internal and external customers.

    POSITION OVERVIEW (job duties and responsibilities overview):

    • Rebuilds parts using manual machining equipment and applying mechanical machinist/engineering principles.
      • Determines dimensions and tolerances of the piece(s) to be machined
      • Plans the sequence of operations and necessary machinery based on specifications like blueprints, sketches, damaged parts, or descriptions.
      • Sets up and carries out tasks using various machine tools such as drills, lathes, and milling machines.
      • Independently selects and adjusts tools, jaws, and fixtures suitable for the repair
    • Utilizes precision measuring tools to verify work accuracy.
    Educational Requirement
    • High School diploma or Equivalent.
    Experience Profile:
    • Typically 2-3 years in a machine shop/manual repair environment - preferred
    • Experience with operating fork lift trucks, hand pallet jacks, and overhead cranes.
    • Experience with vibration analysis/balancing equipment is a bonus
    Desired Candidate Profile:
    • Proficiency in operating various manual machines, vertical and horizontal grinders, and radial drills
    • Capable of setting up jaws, fixtures, and tooling independently
    • Experience with a range of precision measuring instruments like micrometers, bore gauges, venires, taper gauges, and dial indicators
    • Familiarity with metric and English measurement systems
    • Ability to interpret complex blueprints, drawings, sketches, and work instructions
    • Strong mechanical aptitude displayed
    • Ability to diagnose mechanical issues
    • Basic computer literacy and M
