Description

The General Maintenance Crewmember performs skilled work in the painting, installation, operation, maintenance, modification, service and repair of mechanical, plumbing and structural systems.

May also perform routine carpentry work using hand and power tools and precision measuring and testing devices to repair or remodel existing structures according to work orders or verbal instructions.

• A high school diploma or the equivalent required.
• Completion of a maintenance vocational/technical school or a recognized apprenticeship program in general mechanical maintenance is preferred.
• Some experience in a mechanical trade is preferred but not required.
• Requires general mechanical ability which includes, but not limited to, skills in the use small hand and power tools, mechanical equipment and materials applicable to the mechanical trades.
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics is helpful for some general maintenance positions but not required for all.
• Computer literacy preferred.
• Must be able to work as part of a team and independently as required.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse constituents.
• Must have valid Florida Driver's License.
