Responsibilities:


Leadership and Direction

At the Operational and Company Level

  • Interact and communicate with clients, customers, officials, contractors, and others from project start to completion.
  • Attend and participate in project meetings as needed.

Do the Work

  • Design fire protection and safety systems.
  • Perform hydraulic modeling, including hydrant flow testing.
  • Analyze and interpret fire protection code and life safety data to support successful design.
  • Assist in commissioning of fire protection and life safety systems.
  • Prepare project documents to track successful implementation from start to finish.
  • Troubleshoot problems in implementation as they arise, offer solutions based on knowledge of fire protection and safety systems.
  • Evaluate, select, and adapt standard techniques to support project team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related engineering discipline with fire protection engineering experience.
  • Zero to five (05) years of work experience in fire protection engineering.
  • EngineerinTraining (EIT) preferred.
  • Revit or AutoCAD experience preferred.

Physical Demands and Working Environment:

  • Partly indoor professional office environment which may include bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic.
  • Mobility around an office environment.
  • Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Partly outdoor work environment which may include adverse weather conditions, varying temperatures, excessive noise, and/or potential hazards.
  • Mobility around a job/construction site to include walking, bending, crawling, climbing, squatting, or kneeling and wearing of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Occasional lifting or carrying up to 40 pounds.
  • Occasional pushing or pulling up to 40 pounds.
  • Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder.
