Position Summary
Performs a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, hallways, and other assigned areas of the hospital.
Primary Duties


  • Dusts furniture, woodwork, and equipment and dust mops floors. Polishes and cleans fixtures in utility rooms and bathrooms.
  • Operates vacuums.
  • Wet mops rooms, halls, stairways and public areas.
  • Cleans vents, fans and other equipment using the vacuum machines.
  • Cleans fixtures, tops or windows, door frames and high areas using a ladder.
  • Gathers and disposes of trash and waste materials.
  • Moves furniture and other heavy objects as required.
  • Removes waste, soiled linens and Bio-waste from work area and places in specific bags or containers.
  • Performs terminal cleaning procedures of patient rooms and prepares rooms for new occupant; follows isolation procedures in isolation rooms.
  • Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors, and walls of bathrooms.
  • Employee wears ID badge while at work.
  • Adheres to assigned breaks and lunch times.
  • Cleans patient rooms following the seven (7) step procedures.
  • Follows designated Duty list.
  • Checks E-Mail daily for additional assigned tasks.
  • Log into computers to check in and out of cleaning rooms.
Position Specifications


Physical demands:

  • Prolonged and extensive walking, standing
  • Lift supplies/equipment
  • Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 25 pounds)
  • Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching

Working Conditions:

  • Exposed to housekeeping/cleaning agents/chemicals
  • Works in precarious or high locations
  • Handling Bio Waste
Education


Required:
High School graduate, GED with ability to read, write and understand the English language.

Experience


Required:2 years work in environmental services in lieu of education. Prior cleaning experience. 2 years of experience in hospitality or healthcare setting. May substitute domestic experience.


Pay Rate:
$20.15


Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an employee's qualifications and experience.
