    The IS Manager for Infrastructure Operations oversees the day-to-day management of our organization's Information Services infrastructure, including servers, databases, and storage systems. They are responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and security of the infrastructure through tasks such as monitoring, maintenance, capacity planning, and incident and vulnerability management. Having the technical skills, combined with strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities are essential to successfully manage and optimize our IS infrastructure along with meeting the operational needs that supports our business objectives effectively.

    * This is a hybrid-office position and requires regular attendance in our Minnetonka, Minnesota offices (394 at Hopkins Crossroads). Remote applicants are not being considered.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Responsible to:

  • Coordinate and manage the work effort of assigned staff using experience and management reporting tools to align work activities with organization priorities and objectives.
  • Manage the availability and stability of service delivery within areas of assigned responsibility.
  • Make decisions regarding personnel action (hiring, termination, promotions, etc.) of both internal and temporary staff.
  • Coordinate the technical evaluation of proposals, projects and changes to the existing environment to assure stability and alignment with current architectures.
  • Assign personnel to various projects and direct their activities.
  • Delegate responsibility and tasks as appropriate.
  • Review and evaluate work and prepare performance reports.
  • Confer with and advise subordinates on administrative policies and procedures, technical problems, priorities and methods.
  • Consult and coordinate work activities that involve multiple departments to align resources to priorities and schedules.
  • Prepare activity and progress reports.
  • Develop career-path opportunities for staff through project assignments, training and encouragement to pursue additional education.
  • Control revenues and expenses within an operating unit and meet budget goals and objectives.
  • Create annual budgets; track and reconcile departmental financial activities to forecasts.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors needed to support the department's activities.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.
  • EXPERTISE:

  • People and team management in any assigned area of the information systems department; manages and mentors team leaders, project leads and/or technical staff.
  • Works under general direction of senior management.
  • EXPERIENCE:

  • Typically has 7-10 years of IS/business work experience including managing teams and/or coordinating work activity in the support of projects or on-going operational support activities.
  • TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Proficient in storage technologies, encompassing SAN, NAS, and Azure Cloud infrastructure.
  • Experienced with database systems, particularly Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Skilled in utilizing monitoring and capacity management tools.
  • Well-versed in system and server operations and platforms.
  • Familiar with vulnerability and patch management tools.
  • Disaster recovery planning and providing support and documentation for implementation and testing.
  • Capacity Planning
  • Understanding of backup strategies, techniques, and backup software solutions.
  • Incident Management, Change Management, and Problem Management.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V. Knowledge of virtual machine management, resource allocation, and performance optimization is important.
  • Basic project management skills to plan, organize, and execute infrastructure projects effectively.
  • KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

    Educational Requirements:

    Bachelor's or advanced degree in computer science, information systems, or related fields; or equivalent work experience.

    Communication and Interpersonal skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • At a minimum, the ability to work from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Consistent attendance is required, which may include attendance at after-hour Company events.
  • Ability to accept supervision.
  • Ability to foster, develop and maintain professional and collaborative working relationships. Must be able to get along with others, i.e., peers, supervisors, outside customers, and vendors.
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of management, employees and customers by email, phone, video conferences and in person.
  • Must be a personable, positive, and professional representative of the company.
  • Ability to work overtime as requested and approved by supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
  • PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS :

  • Overnight business travel by air and/or automobile, may be required.
  • Valid driver's license and auto insurance may be required.
  • The ability to maintain confidences and confidential information may be required.
  • The ability to perform under pressure and to be flexible with disruptions and deadlines is required.
  • Repetitive and continual keyboard activity and interaction with display monitors is required.
  • Sedentary work: The majority of activity in this position involves sedentary work including sitting, standing, walking and the occasional need to lift or move objects.
