Overview:
Colliers Engineering & Design, is looking for an experienced campus planner to join our Mid-Atlantic & Northeast Buildings team.
This individual may work on public/private higher education, program work, and/or multi-use projects.
Our team of talented and creative architects work closely as trusted partners with our clients throughout the design process to realize a jointly conceived vision.
We offer a full range of services from preliminary planning and feasibility studies through final design and construction inspection for both full build-out, renovations and adaptive reuse projects.
Our markets include commercial development, warehousing, pre K-12 and higher education, science and technology, municipal and public works agencies, offices and corporate facilities, and retail and food.
Our in-house team of architects, interior designers, engineers, and planners skillfully balance design constraints with the clients' needs and desired outcome.
Our professionals also provide mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design; programming, corporate branding, standards integration, workstation specification, facilities and construction management support, energy solutions, and LEED certification.

- Evaluate higher education facilities, open space, and infrastructure.
- Evaluate campus condition, capacity, utilization, usage patterns, and institutional metrics.
- Integrate campus data, physical condition analysis, and recommendations with institutional strategic planning and key performance indicators.
- Merge crossdisciplinary data and principles to advance planning and design of complex projects.
- Conduct research and collect data, identify relevant precedents, and develop analysis diagrams.
- Synthesize quantitative and qualitative information to generate flexible implementation and capital planning strategies.
- Organize and manage campus and community engagement exercises.
- Generate planning concepts, rendered plans, and create graphics.
- Generate planning reports that meet client needs regarding content, schedule, and budget.
- Communicating with clients and building/maintaining those relationships.
- Problemsolving for design solutions.
- Surveying onsite work at client facilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in planning, architecture, landscape architecture, or urban design.
- Licensed in the US in planning, architecture, and/or landscape architecture.
- 10+ years' experience leading comprehensive planning projects for colleges and universities.
- Understanding of Higher Education academic organizational structures, workflow, and operating procedures.
- Experience with campusscale assessment, analytics, diagramming, conceptualization, prioritization, and phasing.
- Experience with Higher Education facility programming, design, and project development.
- Experience with user survey methodology.
- Able to develop space reallocation strategies.
- Experience with higher education issues, trends, and facilities.
- Able to identify evolving best practices, policies, and procedures.
- Understanding of planning and urban design, building typologies, transportation, land development planning, zoning codes, phasing considerations, and implementation techniques.
- Able to translate data, engagement, assessment, and concepts into compelling narratives.
- Able to develop short and longterm campus planning goals through analysis.
- Able to work closely with others.
- Strong communication skills.
- Able to build relationships and communicate at every level of a project.
- Able to work independently with mínimal instruction.
- Client facing experience.
- Experience with leading, coaching, and mentoring junior staff.
- Proficient/Experienced with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, GIS, and Adobe Creative Suite.
Compensation:
$83,000-$105,000 DOQ.
