SALARY BENEFITS:
Salary range $42,500 - $79,000-Status Quo
GENERAL FUNCTIONS/PROFESSIONAL
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The primary function of the teacher is to plan, guide and evaluate the learning process of the students for whom they are responsible.
- Able to work effectively and communicate with a wide range of students, staff and administration; able to work effectively with the staff and administration.
- Proficient and competent demonstration of reading and writing capabilities.
- Strong human relations skills, including professional tact, diplomacy and presentation.
- Multitasking ability and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to utilize 21st century technological skills to enhance teaching and learning.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Meet and instruct assigned classes in the location and at the times designated.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity, interest, and abilities of students.
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of established state standards and school corporation goals.
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with physical limitations of the location provided, and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
- Strive to implement the district's philosophy of education.
- Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis, provide progress reports as required, and communicate with parents as deemed necessary.
- Suggest and provide materials and methods by which to publicize and communicate the school's programs to staff, students, patrons, and the community.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Develop a code of conduct for the classroom which is consistent with established administrative policies and develop rules of classroom behavior which are enforced in a fair and just manner.
- Attend building meetings to promote communication and mutual decision making among the staff.
- Work with fellow teachers on curriculum development and textbook adoption.
- Participate in professional growth activities that satisfies personal expectations as a professional.
- Use and integrate available technology to enhance classroom instruction.
- Be open to ideas presented by colleagues or administrators.
- Maintain a positive attitude with all staff and students.
