- Determine and communicate instructions for chapter and National 990s; Independently Prepare, review and analyze Form 990, ensuring accuracy and timely submission of all tax filings
- Coordinate annual audit, including preparing and analyzing data for external auditors, and ensuring proper filing of tax returns.
- Stay up to date with IRS regulations and compliance requirements for tax-exempt organizations.
- Stay up-to-date with accounting regulations and industry best practices, making recommendations for process improvements as needed.
- Maintain organized records of tax-related documents and correspondence.
- Responsible for driving work to meet deadlines with chapters, national and external groups, collaborating with the accounting services and audit teams and other departments to gather required information
- Support the audit process with responsibility for key schedules including FAS157 footnote and other cash, receivables, and endowment related testing.
- Work in partnership with Finance leadership to support national and chapter accounting services during surge period of September-December.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Nonprofit accounting and tax accounting experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, preferred.
- Previous experience with NetSuite or similar systems
- Demonstrated expertise using Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- CPA designation and nonprofit experience a plus
- High level communication skills to lead, influence and negotiate across the organization.

- Position may require travel to organizational conferences and events.
