Position Overview:
We're seeking a seasoned mission-driven and purpose-led communicator to help lead U.S. corporate communication efforts through strategic initiatives aimed at a range of stakeholders.

As Director, Corporate Communications, you will help shape and execute our corporate narrative as we ramp up in the U.S.

to help the estimated 28 million U.S. legal-age smokers have access to accurate information about better alternatives to smoking.


You will serve as deputy counsel in helping to develop and lead corporate communications efforts to achieve business objectives— engaging with media and stakeholders in collaboration with our functional leadership teams.

We are seeking a strategic thinker with a passion for building corporate reputation, a sensitivity for regulated industries, and an enthusiasm for mission-oriented initiatives.


Your 'day to day':

  • Codevelop and coown the US Communication strategy together with the Chief Communications Officer US.
  • Champion and own our U.S. corporate narrative in partnership with CCO and serving as deputy counsel.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive communications strategies that align with corporate goals and resonate with target audiences.
  • Lead reputation management workstream; delivering proactive strategies.
  • Direct crisis communication efforts.
  • Drive business stories and executive visibility platforms.
  • Work with agency partners and internal teams to ensure delivery of highimpact campaigns and initiatives.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and key opinion leaders to secure accurate media coverage.
  • Lead web and social corporate content strategy
  • Collaborate crossfunctionally to coordinate communications efforts with other teams including corporate responsibility, sustainability, people & culture, external affairs, scientific engagement, and other departments.
  • Monitor industry trends, public sentiment, and other relevant activities to adapt corporate strategies accordingly.
  • Ensure team is continuously alerted to risks and opportunities.

Who we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 15+ years in a communicationsbased role.
  • Strong communications skills (written and oral) with ability to distill complex objectives into actionable deliverables with focus on measurable results.
  • Relevant experience in public relations/communications, with a track record of developing successful corporate campaigns geared to achieving business outcomes.
  • Understanding of the industry landscape, regulations, and sensitivities
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft engaging, compelling narratives.
  • Masterful storyteller.
  • Team player approach; must work well with others in a global collaborative environment partnering across the communications team and with senior management in all functions and with external parties.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Experience working effectively and crossfunctionally in large organizations to ensure collaboration.
  • Proficiency in managing media relationships and ensuring accurate coverage.
  • Solutions—minded creative thinker routinely generating innovative ideas.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in implementing DEI strategies.
  • Culturally agile and adaptable.
  • Ability to quickly develop necessary rapport to become a trusted adviser.
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction.
  • Understanding of the U.S. media landscape and its global impact.
  • Ability to learn and communicate about complex and technical topics.

Annual Base Salary Range:
$232,000-$319,000
