**Electric Meter /Meter Reader


Essential Functions & Responsibilities:


  • Exchange of existing Electric Utility Meters/Reading Meters.
  • Identifies and reports all hazardous working conditions and specifically those hazardous conditions that prohibit the safe exchange of meters to management.
  • Performs up to standards within time frames outlined by Field Supervisor and Project Manager.
  • Commitment to customer service by responding to the needs of internal and external customer.
  • Completes all work in an organized, timely manner, within the instructed standard procedure.
  • Sets appropriate priorities and works in accordance with legal hours worked policy and all safety requirements as outlined within Corporate Policy and Procedures.
  • Day Shifts. Some overtime and weekend hours maybe required at times.
  • Commitment to complete work assignments.
  • Starting Monday thru Friday to start will switch to Tuesday to Saturday.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Selfmotivated with ability to work with little supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to read meters and willingness to learn to operate new equipment and implement new procedures.
  • Ability to comprehend new handheld technology, i.e., Cell Phones, GPS, PDAs, and Digital Cameras.
  • Strong Directional Skills: Ability to read and understand maps via GPS instruments and websites, i.e., Garmin's, Tom Toms, Yahoo Maps, MapQuest, etc.
  • Able to read written instructions, write legibly, understand verbal instruction, make simple computations, complete daily work assignments and transpose numbers accurately.
  • Physical capacity to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing the work assignment.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and deal effectively with unexpected situations on customer premises such as irate customers, unfriendly dogs, meter tampering and the unexpected.

Education & Experience:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Pre-Screen:


  • Upon offer, employees will be required to complete and pass a preemployment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.

License & Certifications:


  • Driver License required.

Physical Requirements:

Rare: (less than 10%): crawling, climbing ladders, sitting, climbing.

Occasional: (up to 33%): kneeling, climbing on/off a truck, lifting up to 50 lbs.

Frequent: (up to 66%): standing, walking, stooping, squatting, manual dexterity, seeing distant, reaching, hearing-speech range, depth perception, body-twisting, lifting over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., reading, color vision, lifting, balancing, lifting up to 10 lbs.

Continuous: (up to 100%): a sense of touch, smell, seeing, speaking clearly, gripping, range of motion, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs.


Pay:
$ $23.00 per hour


Expected hours:
No less than 40 per week.
