The Configuration Manager ensures that the performance, function, and appearance of products are consistent. This involves managing the functional requirements, design, and operational information throughout each product's life cycle. The Configuration Manager develops or adheres to migration plans and helps oversee deployment. The Configuration Manager performs audits. The Configuration Manager - Virginia will be located in Williamsburg, VA.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Plans and executes Configuration Management (CM) throughout the project lifecycle, including development, migration, deployment, and security.
  • Oversees the daily management of configuration items.
  • Reviews migration plans.
  • Analyzes issues related to configuration.
  • Reviews and updates CM processes.
  • Ensures that IT staff members follow CM processes.
  • Creates and maintains documentation for tools used to support CM.
  • Monitors all CM processes.
  • Provides user support and troubleshoots issues with the relevant CM software.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:


  • Undergraduate degree or higher in an engineering or other technical discipline.
  • 10 years of experience in all aspects of CM, engineering change proposals, configuration status accounting, and configuration auditing and cataloguing equipment information and changes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of U.S. military CM requirements and best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage equipment nomenclature, numerical schemes, and organize equipment information.
  • Proficiency in computers.
  • Experience with project management.
  • A sound knowledge of creating and managing complex databases.
  • Ability to pass a preemployment drug/alcohol screen and background check, as required.
