    Diesel Mechanic/Technician – 2nd Shift - $2,000-$5,000 Sign-on Bonus Available
    Join GTG Peterbilt, a family-owned full-service Peterbilt truck dealership located in Cedar Rapids. We've been proudly serving eastern Iowa since 1973, striving to offer top-quality products and exceptional service. Currently, we are looking for a Heavy-Duty Diesel Technician to join our team in Cedar Rapids. The ideal candidate will be responsible for servicing and repairing heavy-duty trucks of all makes and models.

    Responsibilities:
    - Conduct inspections and diagnostic tests to determine the condition of units.
    - Test equipment post-repair or assembly to ensure compliance with specifications.
    - Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
    - Maintain cost efficiency by evaluating service and parts options.
    - Keep vehicle records updated with service and repair details.
    - Complete engine overhauls and other identified repairs.
    - Interpret schematics for electrical and air systems.
    - Adhere to safety and regulatory standards.
    - Perform other shop duties as assigned.


    Skills Required:
    - Proficient in using power tools for truck repair and maintenance.
    - Strong mechanical aptitude.
    - Ability to service heavy-duty diesel equipment at different experience levels.
    - Strong focus on safety and professionalism.
    - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    - Good customer service abilities.
    - Prioritization and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
    - Ability to work independently or as part of a team.


    Education and Experience:
    - High School diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
    - OEM certifications in the trucking industry are a plus.
    - Tech school or 2 years of heavy-duty truck repair experience preferred.
    - Valid driver's license required, CDL preferred.
    - Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
