Children at the First Baptist Church of Clarendon Child Development Center are waiting for caregivers ~ teachers who enjoy and are skilled at planning and preparing active and participatory lessons and learning as they engage and encounter the world around them both indoors and outdoors.


The caregivers ~ teachers the children are waiting for should enjoy hugs, long stories, enjoy eating pretend food, must be willing to sing, dance, tell and laugh at jokes (even if they do not make sense to a grown-up), must be willing to read books (some over and over again, as if they were reading them for the first time, each time) and must not be squeamish about dirty diapers, skinned knees, holding live insects, getting dirty, messy, wet or sweaty and have the patience of Job.

The children are waiting for a person who will guide them in learning to be empathetic and self-regulated and kind.
