    Staff Civil Engineer (Land Development)

    Location: Toledo, OH

    Kalamazoo, MI

    Job Summary

    Fishbeck has an exciting opportunity for a creative and talended Civil Engineer in our Toledo and Kalamazoo offices. Our offices are growing and have exciting opportunities available. This position requires self-motivation, commitment to high-quality work performance, excellent planning and communication skills, and the ability to work with staff in a project team environment.

    Primary Functions
    • Plan and design Civil and Land Development projects, including site layout, grading, stormwater managment and utilities.
    • Peform design calculations, quantify bid items, develop cost estimates, and prepare reports.
    • Research zoning ordinances, desing standards, and permitting regulations and prepare submittals.
    • Assist with drafting and plan production utilizing AutoCAD/Civl 3D.
    • Work with a multi-discipline team of architects, MEP, and structural engineers on a variety of projects including Higher Education, Retail, Commercial, Industrial, and others.
    Minimum Physical Requirements

    Exposed to occassional lifting and carrying. Will have normal office working conditions and be required to sit and use a computer. Capable of traveling to and manuevering around project sites for attending client and project meetings and site observations. Able to use various technical equipment for communication and documentation. Visual acuity necessary to peform responsibilities.

    Desired Education

    Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering Technology.

    Desired Skills/Experience
    • 1+ years of experience of land development or general civil engineering experience.
    • Knowledge of AutoCAD required; Civil 3D preferred.
    • Strong computer and communication skills.
