Air Freight Supervisor


Overview:


The Air Freight Supervisor at our company plays a critical role in driving the efficiency and success of our air export and domestic perishable shipments operations.

Positioned within a dynamic international logistics team, this role emphasizes the importance of aligning client needs with our organizational goals to enhance service delivery and operational excellence.

The supervisor is essential in boosting service quality and profitability by managing relationships with clients, carriers, and other key stakeholders.

Through strategic planning, diligent coordination, and effective communication, they ensure that all shipments are handled efficiently, cost-effectively, and to the satisfaction of all parties involved.

This position is pivotal in upholding our commitment to providing industry-leading logistics solutions and customer service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and oversee both international and domestic shipments, ensuring timely and costeffective delivery.
  • Coordinate with airlines for optimal booking based on client requests, cost, and routing.
  • Prepare necessary shipping documents like Air Waybill (AWB), packing lists, commercial invoices, and certificates as required.
  • Provide continuous updates to customers regarding their shipment status, including loading, schedules, and departures.
  • Invoice clients according to agreed rates and ensure profitability and cost protection for each shipment.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients and partners, providing regular updates on transport arrangements.
  • Handle transport orders and negotiate rates with vendors to ensure favorable terms.
  • Maintain professional communication standards and manage documentation efficiently to meet service and policy requirements.
  • Offer rate quotations and handle rate requests as needed.
  • Monitor market trends and service changes to keep clients informed.
  • Support accounts receivable and payable processes when necessary and check client credit before transport.
  • Ensure file profitability through vendor cost control and sales maximization.
  • Invoice management and compliance with company guidelines.

About You:


  • You hold a bachelor's degree from a fouryear college or university and bring at least five years of industry experience to the table, ideally with a track record in both operational and sales environments.
  • Your background includes managing a diverse range of commodities and you've consistently demonstrated your ability to meet and exceed performance standards.
  • You possess strong analytical skills, capable of reading and interpreting complex documents, and are comfortable handling sensitive inquiries or complaints. Your communication skills enable you to present information effectively to various stakeholders, from top managers to frontline staff and clients.
  • Math is second nature to you; you're adept at calculating freight rates, discounts, commissions, and more, with a solid grasp of basic accounting principles.
  • When it comes to problemsolving, you're a pro. You can address practical issues and make sound decisions even when only limited standard information is available.
  • You're known for your strong communication, organizational skills, and meticulous attention to detail. Even under pressure, you maintain professionalism and efficiency.
  • Leadership is in your DNA. You're not only a decisionmaker but also a motivator who knows how to lead a team to success.
  • You're a true team player but also capable of multitasking and thriving in a fastpaced environment.
  • You have a comprehensive understanding of customs regulations, export documentation, and Incoterms, and you're familiar with world geography.

Position Details:


  • Compensation: 66,500 Annually
