    Job Description
    The Director of


    DEIA
    Learning and Development plays a critical role in advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (
    DEIA) on campus.

    Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion, the Director provides visionary leadership, collaborative decision-making, and thoughtful oversight of short and long-term professional development opportunities through the Office of Diversity and Inclusion.

    This includes coordination of the biennial


    DEIA
    Symposium and follow-up activities, new micro-credential, and new train-the-trainers program.

    The Director also provides direction on the Office of Diversity and Inclusion's Core Four curriculum, learning materials/resources, and timely discussions and workshops.

    The Director supervisors the


    DEIA
    Learning and Development Specialist and works closely with other directors in

    ODI . These efforts help achieve the critical priorities and goals outlined in the


    DEIA
    Strategic Plan and Academic Strategic Plan.
    Qualifications
    Graduate or professional degree in a relevant field.
    Job Specific Qualifications

    Demonstrated commitment and experience advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.

    Must have a minimum of 7 years of professional experience leading workplace diversity training, instructional design, or professional development initiatives.

    Experience supervising professional staff and students.
    Strong leadership, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
    Ability to communicate and present effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
    Professional experience in training, professional development, assessment, and/or evaluation. Proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
    Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
    Demonstrated ability to prioritize and deal with multiple demands.
    Strong organizational skills.
    Ability to work independently and in interdisciplinary teams. Attention to detail, flexibility, and responsiveness a must.
    Responsibilities

    Use theoretical frameworks and evidence-based strategies to develop, deliver, coordinate, and evaluate office-sponsored professional development programs.

    Create and manage innovate programs and sustained learning experiences that build institutional capacity and transform campus culture such as the micro-credential/badge, engaged departments project, workshops and discussions on current issues, and train-the-trainers program.

    Develop and measure impact of learning outcomes. Supervise the


    DEIA
    Learning and Development Specialist.
    Submit formative and summative reports to the Assistant Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion regarding program goals and impact.
    Convene and oversee interdisciplinary planning committee for the


    DEIA
    Symposium.
    Manage all components of the event including assessment, publicity, speaker selection, program reviews, logistics, and evaluation.
    Provide consultation and guidance to committees, departments, working groups, and councils regarding


    DEIA
    learning and development.

    Collaborate with academic and administrative units, including but not limited to: Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence; College of Professional Studies; Community Standards; Equal Opportunity, Inclusion, and Resolution Services; Faculty Affairs; Human Resources; Intercultural Collective; and School of Education.

    Special projects, ad hoc working groups, and other duties as assigned.
