This role requires working fulltime on-site at the Skirball Center for Innovation based in Orangeburg, New York.

SUMMARY


This position is responsible for coordinating and executing the integrated site operations of the Skirball Center for Innovation (SCI) located in Orangeburg, NY.

The operational components include purchasing and expense reporting, planning, compliance and execution of the strategic plan for the business line, and vendor management.


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES


This position is responsible for coordinating the logistics and maintaining daily operational flow at SCI in accordance with CRF's policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include tracking and reporting of expenses, evaluation of supply usage, vendor communication, sponsor interactions, coordination of logistics.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In close cooperation with the Senior Director of Operations, SCI, participates in the daily operations of the division with respect to scheduling activities, planning and coordinating the required human, and material resources, and ensuring timely execution of deliverables.
  • Under supervision of Senior Director of Operations, SCI, participates in the daily operations of the division including purchasing, monitoring expenses and reporting, planning, compliance and execution of the strategic plan for the business line, and vendor management.
  • Contributes to expense controls and operational efficiencies.
  • Monitors and reports on financial objectives in collaboration with Animal Care Manager, Facilities Manager, Office Manager and PI/Study Directors, to ensure availability of supplies at lowest possible cost, supply usage, capture of all supplies/services to ensure proper invoicing.
  • Data acquisition and reporting of financial aspects of trial life from initial proposal, interim financial tracking (per study).
  • Ensures fixed assets (laboratory and medical equipment, SCI building and facilities) are preserved. Reports to Senior Director of Operations state of assets that directs decisions on purchases of new, improvement, and/or replacement equipment as required including analysis of cost and alternatives (i.e., purchase versus lease; repair versus purchase/lease).
  • Supports Senior Director of Operations, SCI, in maintaining sponsor relationships by assisting with budgeting and proposals for activities in discussion.
  • Participates in meetings with sponsors or interacts directly with sponsors about study logistics.
  • Provides regulatory support to business unit by assisting with audit preparation, interacting with auditors, and conducting followup activities and communications with external parties including but not limited to the FDA, USDA, NY State, etc.
  • Serves as a site representative to customers, industry groups, regulatory agencies, and government officials at local, state, and federal levels.
  • Participates in disaster recovery, backup planning and OSHAreadiness planning.
  • Serves as a liaison to all outside vendors.
  • Supports the onboarding of new personnel and contributes to annual staff training of the division.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in business or life sciences at minimum, or other advanced degree (MBA or Masters in scientific, life sciences or businessrelated discipline).
  • 1 or more years of experience in a project management capacity preferred.
  • 1 or more years of experience in the Healthcare/Pharmaceutical/Biomedical industry is a plus.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Good Laboratory Practice regulations (21CFR58)
  • Familiarity with OSHA and government regulations regarding the care of laboratory animals is important.
  • Proven organization experience.
  • Ability to publicly represent company with internal and external clients
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong focus on flexibility, ability to multitask, attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, good followup, and judgment; must be able to prioritize and interface with users who are working under deadlines.
  • Must possess excellent communication and writing skills, patience, professionalism, and ability to effectively interact with staff and management alike.
  • Ability to analyze information and solve problems relating to operations, finance, and infrastructure.
