Sentara Norfolk General Hospital located in Norfolk, Virginia is hiring a RN for the Burn Trauma, Intermediate
Care - Medical/Surgical Unit**
Position is Flexi/PRN, Nights
Burn Trauma is a 34-bed mixed Intermediate care and medical/surgical unit. There are 17 beds for stepdown/intermediate level of care. The patient population is neurosurgery, trauma, burns and orthopedic trauma. The intermediate care patients are received from both the Burn Trauma ICU and the Neurosurgical ICU.

Also, there are 17 beds for Medical/Surgical level of care for neurosurgical, trauma, burns, orthopedic trauma, and bariatric weight loss (gastric bypass and gastric sleeves).

Our nurses are trained to work both the intermediate and the medical surgical side.

The nurse to patient ratio for the Intermediate Care beds are 3 to 4 and for the Medical/Surgical beds are 5 to 6.

The Registered Nurse will work in a collaborative role as part of a team to maintain and support the standards of nursing care and practice, to meet the health care needs of patients, their families, and the community.


Qualifications:


  • RN License
  • BSN or MSN preferred
  • BLS within 90 days of hire
