Description
The human body consists of billions of tiny cells. Within them, complex chemical processes take place that enable our lives.

Our blood cells, for example, are versatile little helpers that transport nutrients, oxygen, and hormones throughout the body and collect carbon dioxide from the organs.

But how exactly do these processes and systems work? How do we know how medications affect us and which substances can help with certain diseases?

These are all questions that biology laboratory technicians seek to answer. They research cell cultures and their chemical processes, searching for new substances and improvements for existing medications.

In the laboratory, they cultivate cell cultures using state-of-the-art equipment, examine their genetic makeup, and work on modifying them to cure diseases.

They test the effectiveness of drugs and drive the development of our medications. In doing so, they help patients with rare diseases around the world to live active lives without limitations.
