:***:The Assembly Technician Lead is responsible for supervising the Assembly Technicians and overseeing other daily activities in the Assembly area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Assembly Technician Lead is accountable for the following functions and responsibilities:
- Complete basic subassemblies independently.
- Read work orders.
- Complete, and report production.
- Accurately place part identification on finished goods.
- Assemble simple finished products independently.
- Complete complex subassemblies independently.
- Use appropriate strategies and solutions for dealing with conflicts and differences to maintain a smooth workflow.
- Advanced knowledge of all basic assemblies.
- Advanced interpretation of prints.
- Identify and correct nonconformities.
- Setup of both assembly and subassembly lines/equipment.
- Complete paperwork for identification of finished inventory.
- Advanced mechanical assembly knowledge.
- Basic use of ERP system including work orders, material movement, etc.
- Assist Assembly Material Handler with movement of inventory.
- Advanced knowledge of all specialty plug assemblies.
- Train Assembly Technicians on basic assemblies.
- Direct subassembly line to meet production requirements.
- Direct assembly line to meet production requirements.
- Review workorder to confirm it is correct and ready to complete.
- Movement of test plugs to R&D.
- Maintain effective stock of consumable goods for department.
- Advanced knowledge of hydrostatic testing.
- Create workorders based on production schedule.
- Lead personnel in a manner that is proactive and adheres to company policies and procedures.
- Effectively coordinate the transition of staff at the beginning and end of each work shift.
- Maintain required attendance and punctuality as scheduled to meet production goals.
- Perform other functions and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
The Assembly Technician Lead must at a minimum possess the following:
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of assembly experience in a manufacturing setting is required. Three years of experience is preferred.
- Ability to work in a teamoriented, highpressured, and fastpaced environment.
- Ability to comprehend production requirements.
- Ability to speak, read, and write the English language fluently.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The Assembly Technician Lead must be able to:
- Lift a minimum of 50lbs, repeatedly, without assistance and up to 100lbs with assistance.
- Push/pull heavy objects with the proper equipment.
- Wear the appropriate PPE when required (i.e., safety glasses or side shields, steeltoe footwear, etc.).
- Stand for long periods of time; up to 812 hours a day.
