ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:


The SMART Lab is administered by Undergraduate Studies and is housed within the USF Tampa Library Learning Commons to promote the university-wide student success initiative.

The primary mission of the SMART Lab is to directly promote and support students' academic success in four specific introductory-level math courses.

The SMART Lab works in collaboration with faculty, instructional staff, teaching assistants and peer-tutors to provide on-demand personalized academic assistance.

***: The SMART Lab Student Programs Coordinator reports to the Assistant Director and provides professional administrative support to the SMART Lab program, with considerable discretion and judgment to deliver appropriate services to the program's diverse student population. This position requires coordination with SMART Lab administrative staff, Math Department faculty and staff, and other campus partners to address program needs and priorities while complying with university, campus, and departmental policies and procedures. The Student Programs Coordinator will regularly assist in supervising student employees and other university staff to meet program requirements. Schedule will vary within SMART Lab hours of operation (Mon-Thurs 9AM-9PM, Fri 9AM-4PM, Sun 1PM-5PM) according to departmental needs. This position may require evening and/or weekend work hours on a permanent or temporary basis.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Provide administrative support to the SMART Lab program, including overseeing center operations and assisting with the supervision of student employees. Maintain proficiency in departmental policies and procedures and in the SMART Lab program's instructional technologies. Ensure adherence among SMART Lab faculty, students and student employees on matters related to the SMART Lab program.
  • Assist in research and assessment of the SMART Lab program and in developing policies and procedures to guide the delivery of student services. Support university and division strategic initiatives as assigned.
  • Maintain a wide knowledge of university resources available to students, referring students to appropriate resources as needed. Promote and maintain an inclusive working and learning community in alignment with university values.
  • Assist in the recruitment, onboarding and training of student staff to ensure the delivery of a highquality student program.
  • Support the SMART Lab program through marketing, orientation, and presentation as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


A bachelor's degree, with at least one year of experience in a student affairs or student personnel position; or a master's degree in Higher Education, College Student Personnel, or Sports Recreation Administration.


FLSB 13 10 Equivalency:
4 years of related work experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree requirement for this position.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


Master's Degree in one of these areas: Math, Math Education, Instructional Technology or a field related to college student success, such as College Student Affairs or Educational Administration.

Demonstrated evidence of leadership or supervisory experience, experience with staff development, coaching and/or training, experience with instructional technologies, and/or program management experience in higher education.
