Ophthalmic Medical Assistant & Scribe
Locations: Monterey Park & Glendale, CA
Employment Type: Full-Time preferred (Part-Time considered); Minimum 1-year
commitment, but we welcome candidates seeking long-term employment.

About the Practice
Join a respected Retina practice led by a physician with over 30 years of excellence in
the field. This is a fast-paced environment where we prioritize clinical precision and
compassionate patient care. We have a long history of mentoring aspiring healthcare
professionals, providing the clinical hours and strong Letters of Recommendation (LOR)
necessary for successful Medical or PA school applications.
The Role
We are looking for a reliable, self-motivated individual to assist in both clinical and
administrative capacities. You will be the doctor's right hand, ensuring a seamless
experience for our patients.
Clinical & Scribing Duties (Back Office):
Comprehensive Patient Workups: Document medical history, check visual
acuity, measure eye pressure, and perform diagnostic testing.
Direct Physician Support: Accompany the doctor during exams to provide real-
time scribing via EMR (Nextech).
Clinical Procedures: Assist the doctor during in-office procedures and
treatments.
Administrative Support (Front Office):
Manage patient check-ins, scheduling, and appointment confirmations.
Verify insurance authorizations and maintain organized patient records.
Qualifications
Technical Proficiency: Fast and accurate typing skills are a must (we are a fully
digital EMR-based practice).
Communication: Conversational Cantonese, Mandarin, or Vietnamese is
highly preferred but not required.
Adaptability: Ability to thrive and learn from mistakes in a fast-paced clinical
setting.
Experience: Previous experience in Ophthalmology or insurance verification is a
plus, but we are happy to train the right candidate
Logistics & Benefits
Schedule: Flexible weekday schedule (No weekends); must be able to travel
between our Monterey Park and Glendale offices (Travel is paid).
Compensation: Pay is commensurate with experience.
