We are excited to invite a passionate and experienced
Safety Supervisor to join our team Homes for the Homeless (HFH) is searching for an experienced Safety Supervisor for our Families w/ Children facility located in the Hell's Kitchen area of Manhattan, NY.

As the Safety Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in our organization, providing a safe and secured environment for the families in our facility and supervising our dedicated Safety Aides.

  • Homes for the Homeless, Inc. (HFH) is a nonprofit social services organization operating family shelters throughout NYC that serve as a hub of opportunity for families both residing in shelter as well as those in the neighboring community. Onsite programs range from childcare, early childhood education centers, afterschool clubs and programs, and youth recreation activities, such as sports teams, to housing assistance, case management, parenting workshops, career and job vocational training, support groups and substance abuse assistance, and family engagement and recreation events for the whole family.
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervise safety staff providing direction and instruction to staff on routine security tasks for assigned shift.
  • Maintain camera surveillance of the interior and exterior of the facility.
  • Enforce facility rules and regulations.
  • Investigate incidents or interactions.
  • Act as the Fire Safety Director and staffs the Fire Command Station.
  • Must be able to work on weekends and Holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Security or law enforcement experience with oneyear supervisory experience preferred.
  • Valid NYS Security License.
  • Valid F02 (Certificate of Fitness for Fire Guard for Shelters).
  • Valid F80 (Certificate of Fitness for Coordinator of Fire Safety and Alarm Systems in Homeless Shelters).
  • Current 8hour certificate.
  • 16hour certificate.
