Project Controls Analyst Job Description

Project Overview:

The Purple Line is a 16-mile light rail line that will extend from Bethesda in Montgomery County to New Carrollton in Prince George's County.

It will provide a direct connection to the Metrorail Red, Green and Orange Lines, at Bethesda, Silver Spring, College Park, and New Carrollton.

The Purple Line will also connect to MARC, Amtrak, and local bus services. The Purple Line is owned by the Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA).

In spring of 2016, MDOT MTA selected a private-sector partner, Purple Line Transit Partners (PLTP) to design, build, operate, and maintain the light rail system for 35 years.


Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with team members to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with all levels of management to confirm and track compliance with contract terms and memorandums of understanding
  • Solicit inputs to, and draft updates to, frequent periodic progress reports for state and federallevel agencies and partners.
  • Perform a variety of tasks related to progress reporting.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation with respect to contract compliance and Concessionaire incentives.
  • Advance project controls dashboards in Excel or other data tools.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment through teamwork and collaboration.
This position will report to the Project Controls Manager.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, data, business, or a related field.
  • 58 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problemsolving skills. This includes editing Word documents for clean formatting, as well as contributing to the messaging included in each report.
  • Proficiency with managing data using the Microsoft suite, including Microsoft Excel and SharePoint. Familiarity with SharePoint lists, power automate, and Microsoft database tools is a plus.
  • Familiarity with project scheduling is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks or responsibilities.
