Job Summary and Qualifications

:


Execute the HCA Mission and Vision. Exemplify the HCA ICARE values - leading by example

  • Establish and review standards and work procedures for all Housekeeping staff.
  • Ensures accurate and timely completion of new employee orientation and training.
  • Regularly inspect and evaluate physical condition of facility.
  • Maintains logs, records and other reports.
  • Maintains Environmental Services equipment and supply inventories.
  • Coordinates the completion of biannual linen inventory. Schedule major project work.
  • Conduct regular inventory of housekeeping supplies and order same, keeping costs in line with approved budgetary amounts.
  • Ensures completion of equipment repairs and recommends purchase of new equipment as needed.
  • Develops and presents training programs and maintains training records.
  • Ability to utilize a participative approach to managing staff.
  • Interview, evaluate, and recommend termination of facility housekeeping personnel.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist in the selection and orientation of employees.
  • Comply with HIPAA guidelines, ensuring all patient and employee information is kept confidential at all times.
  • Responds to Bed Management System (BMAC) alerts and follows proper procedure for entering bed control information into BMAC. Completes discharges in accordance with BMAC guidelines for timeliness and informs supervisor of any system problems.

Mandatory 100% compliance with hand washing expectations, training and education requirements. (including but not limited to Healthstream and Annual Competencies).

  • Report all maintenance/repair needs; submit to Plant Operations service request via TMA.
  • Adhere to all departmental and hospital policies.
  • Assist staff in the department when needed.
  • Perform other duties including duties of the EVS Technician
  • Attend all department meetings and other mandatory events.
  • Appropriately lead the team; exhibiting professionalism at all times.
Other Duties

  • Perform terminal cleaning on all Operating, and other sterile suites when requested outside of end of day cleaning.
  • Lead team huddles.
  • Able to write out work schedules and make adjustments in emergencies.
  • Make rounds to ensure quality of service and quality of work.
  • Monitor bed throughput and ensure that all discharges are being cleaned accordingly and timely.
  • Answer department calls and address and followup on all requests.
  • Disperse keys, pagers, iMobile[AN1] phones, and work a
