Accounting Specialist II, Graham Enterprise, Inc. (GEI)
Job Description:
The Accounting Specialist II is responsible for various daily, weekly & monthly accounting functions, various account reconciliations, resolving discrepancies, variance analysis and special projects.
Reports To:
Accounting Manager
Key Responsibilities:
Perform day to day tasks within Retail, Fuel and/or Corporate Accounting including verifying, classifying, importing, recording and posting entries.
Monitor variances and key indicators in areas such as Retail, Fuel and/or corporate accounting and identify and correct errors. Identify issues with fuel deliveries, credit cards, and paperwork auditing and resolve discrepancies.
Perform functions such as timely and accurate monitoring, scanning and coding of invoices, reports, processing credit cards and customer EFT's, processing fuel deliveries, preparing transaction reconciliations, and other retail and/or corporate accounting functions.
Assist with performing month end close duties, GL account reconciliations and variance analysis as assigned.Perform other duties as assigned by the management.
Skills/Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or 2–5 years of proven relevant experience in an accounting department role.
High degree of accuracy, problem solving skills, and attention to detail. Experience in retail accounting strongly preferred.
Proficient with MS office, Excel and accounting systems.
Must be able to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions and communicate effectively.
Ability to occasionally lift/carry up to 25 lbs.
Uphold company standards in personal appearance, work ethic, information confidentiality and customer service.
Have a can- do and positive attitude in everything you do while working as per GEI principles and guidelines.
