    New graduate Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS) are encouraged to submit their application!

    Delve into the practice of evidence-based advanced nursing as a Clinical Nurse Specialist within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Rady Children's Hospital! Stand out as an expert at the bedside and drive improvements in patient care quality alongside our dedicated team of nurses. This unique role is dedicated to supporting the Level 4 NICU at the Rady Children's Main Campus and Level 2/3 NICU satellites.

    The CNS will primarily focus on:

    • Comprehensive Patient Care: Serve as a crucial resource for medically complex patients, offering specialized care planning and coordination. Collaborate closely with the healthcare team to ensure patients receive optimal care and assistance.
    • Research and Best Practices: Stay updated on the latest advancements in neonatal critical care, actively researching best practices, new protocols, and innovative therapies. Implementing evidence-based discoveries into patient care will contribute to enhancing treatment methodologies.
    • Mentorship and Education: Play a key role in guiding and educating new staff, including recent nursing graduates and those new to pediatric nursing. Your mentorship will help nurture a supportive and knowledgeable healthcare team.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Master's Degree
    • 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse - fresh graduate CNS's are welcome to apply
    • Current California RN License
    • Clinical Nurse Specialist Certification
    • BLS for Healthcare Providers from AHA
    • NICU specific - National Certification Neonatal Intensive Care (RNC-NIC)

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Doctorate Degree (non MD)
    • 5 years of experience
    • NRP Certification-AAP (for NICU)

    The anticipated salary range for this role is between $61.30 and $91.95. Rady Children's Hospital ensures competitive compensation internally and externally. This is demonstrated through regular market assessments to stay competitive within the nonprofit healthcare sector. The provided range is for qualified candidates, considering various factors including experience, education, licensure, unique skills, organizational requirements, and internal fairness.
