Description

Our client, a well-established Construction and Manufacturing Company with a rich 40-year history in the industry, is based in Florida and has successfully executed over 10,000 projects within the state. They specialize in offering comprehensive services spanning design, manufacturing, and installation. Currently, they are in search of a Accounting Manager to enhance their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$75,000 – $90,000

Position Overview:

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing various monthly reporting tasks, including accounts payable, month-end journal entries, sales tax returns, balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting, and account analysis. This role will involve collaboration with the Controller and other key business unit leaders.

Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager:

Managing monthly close tasks for assigned business units, which include preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, roll forwards, accruals, intercompany transactions, and supporting schedules
Coordinating with project managers on Work-In-Process schedules to ensure accurate completion of project work, estimated costs, and variances
Analyzing budgeted costs versus actual costs and offering insights on significant variances
Providing oversight and assistance for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and administrative functions
Identifying process enhancement opportunities through reviewing current practices for potential automation, consolidation, or reengineering

Qualifications for the Accounting Manager:

At least 5 years of accounting experience within a corporate setting
Prior exposure to the construction industry with familiarity in WIP schedules, lien releases, and NTOs
Proficiency in US GAAP reporting
Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, and PeopleSoft
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

Education Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting
