    Work Type: Remote

    Location : Texas / Oklahoma / Louisiana / Mississippi

    Duration: Contract minimum of 6 months with potential for conversion to full-time hire

    This position is expected to be filled in a work location that is within the states of Colorado, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, or Texas.

    At a Glance:

    The IT Network Architect develops standards, policies, and procedures, designs solutions, and assists in implementing systems to securely support the network infrastructure of H&P. The IT Network Architect coordinates with all areas of the organization to gather business requirements, develop solutions and guide engineering/operations to ensure the networks and networked systems are working as optimally and securely as possible. The IT Network Architect will lead analyses of existing networks to evaluate and mitigate risk and safety issues, and ensure the network solutions effectively meet the needs of the organization.

    What You'll Do:

    Lead Design and Review of New Networks:

    • Assist with the design and implementation of networks, security and forensics capabilities to ensure governance across multiple public cloud providers, on-premise data centers and multiple remote offices.
    • Communicate to all levels of the organization, influence behavior and decisions, and advocates for new standards and technology.
    • Work with H&P and vendor teams to design and support the evolution of network architecture based on conceptual design and business requirements.
    • Collaborate with solution architecture and product development teams to design and implement the network infrastructure required to support their vision and strategy.
    • Assist in developing the total cost of ownership for solutions.
    Continuously improve and develop standards, policies, and processes:
    • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, standards, and associated documentation as necessary to guide engineering and operations teams to implement solutions.
    • Maintain a current knowledge of applicable standards, frameworks, regulations, internal compliance, and related requirements
    • Guide H&P and vendor adherence to network policies, standards, processes and procedures.
    • Develop reference architectures, publish design patterns, drive technical designs to consensus and approval.
    • Help formalize, mature, and drive programs related to network architecture reviews and remediation.
    Operational Support:
    • Assist in resolving critical issues where a breadth of expertise and/or enterprise perspective is needed.
    • Assist in post-problem reviews to validate reasoning and corrective actions.
    Vendor Management:
    • Attend vendor meetings as an H&P subject matter expert.
    • Review vendor contracts and statements of work.
    • Evaluate and introduce new vendors to H&P to solve specific business needs.
    What you need:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Assurance or a related field and 10+ years of hands on experience in IT network solution design, or similar role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Experience with and knowledge of common IT frameworks such as NIST (SP , NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS, COBIT, ITIL, etc.
    • Strong design skills around networking (CCIE level preferred), firewalls, Cloud (Azure, GCP, OCI)
    • Design skills around Cisco ACI, Nutanix and VMware
    • Understanding and hands-on experience with network solutions from Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, Nutanix, etc.; macro and micro-segmentation; WAN and LAN implementation and control; network performance management; logging, protocols, and security hardening.
    • Understand engineering domains of CCIE with Datacenter and Security, and Palo Alto Cortex
    • Proven ability to solve problems, thinking creatively, and design, implement and improve IT networks.
    • Experience working within small teams and with external (corporate and third-party) groups, preferably within an IT operations environment.
    • Highly motivated, self-starting individual able to multi-task and manage to timelines with little supervision in a fast paced environment.
    • Proven strong oral and written communication / presentation skills to a broad range of employees. Able to clearly communicate technical details to IT and other technical personnel, but also simplify explanations for non-technical individuals and executives.
    • Strong interpersonal skills that establish and sustain close working relationships with functional teams and subject matter experts both internal and external to IT.
    • Strong documentation and ability to draw in Visio for design docs and mapping
    • Strong knowledge of premise and cloud network architecture
    • Ability to guide teams on producing/maintaining documentation to standards
