This is a great opportunity for a select few providers who have completed the SAFE Education to join an amazing group of women as a valued member of the Crime Victims Center (CVC) team.

You will receive case pay and a generous stipend for the important work you will be doing.


The CVC Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner (SAFE) will respond to a Suffolk County Hospital to provide sexual assault forensic examinations.

The SAFE will provide timely, non-judgmental, compassionate trauma-informed care to the sexual assault patients including a medical-forensic exam, collection of evidence, prophylaxis for pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, photographic documentation of injuries, referrals for appropriate medical and psychological follow-up, and participation in legal proceedings.


The SAFE must be a licensed NYS Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician or a Physician's Assistant and have completed the Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner Edication Program.


A SAFE will be responding to provide examinations on an on-call basis along with a NYS Certified rape crisis counselor (RCC).

The SAFE Program has strong clinical support and leadership to provide oversight and guidance to all SAFEs.

To help achieve our mission, with support from leadership, you will utilize standards, guidelines, policies, procedures and clinical pathways for delivery of trauma-informed high quality forensic services.


This is a unique opportunity for the right trauma informed dedicated professional who wants to join us to continue to build a strong SAFE Program to identify, collect and preserve evidence, and help mitigate the trauma associated with sexual assault.


Requirements:


  • RN, NP, PA, or MD
  • Sexual Assault Forensic Examoner (SAFE) Education Program
  • Minimum 1 Year Clinical Experience

From $500.00 per day
